Insulin Resistance -part 2

Liz James · November 28, 2023 ·

Day 2: Insulin Resistance
We have so many tools….. and we also have tools with so many uses! A Swiss army knife of plants🌿πŸ’ͺβš’ if you will.
Β
We tend to think of Ginger as a wonderful support tool for digestion, but did you also know it’s quite the tool for supporting healthy insulin levels too?
Β
There are lots of studies out there when you do just a wee bit of digging. πŸ€“
How about this one….. a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. ( even better…. not funded by any organization with a conflict of interest.)…. The Effects of Ginger Powder Supplementation on Insulin Resistance and Glycemic Indices in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes:
πŸ‘‰ 8 weeks into the study, the “ginger group” reduced their fasting blood sugar by 10.5%.
πŸ‘‰ Additionally, insulin sensitivity increased significantly in the ginger group.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/…/pii/S0965229914000028…
Β
Here’s another one: The Effect of Ginger Consumption on Glycemic Status, Lipid profile, and some inflammatory markers in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus. https://www.tandfonline.com/…/10.3109/09637486.2014.880671 (go read the abstract….. fascinating stuff!)
Β
There are sooooo many more studies out there. Per the Young Living website, Ginger “may support healthy weight management when combined with exercise and a healthy lifestyle regimen as a dietary supplement.”
While we will never be able to out-supplement poor lifestyle choices, we can use tools like ginger to help mediate and support good choices! I’m thankful for the many tools in the toolbox such as Ginger Vitality!

Energy and Sleep in 3 Simple Steps

Liz James · October 16, 2023 ·

I’ll preface this post by talking about a little experiment I did last month when Nutmeg was a freebie. You might recall that I had shared that I had read that taking a few drops of nutmeg at night (or using it in a roller bottle over adrenals) before bed can help with sleep. I committed to doing this for a month.
Β
UPDATE: I’m not stopping! πŸ€“πŸ˜‰πŸ«Ά….. who would have thought that nourishing your adrenals before bedtime could be helpful for sleep?!
Β
When your adrenals are already struggling, you might think… why stress ’em out by adding one more thing on your “to-do” list? Not this time friends…… give it a try. This month, in addition to my new bedtime BFF Nutmeg, I’m adding En-R-Gee into my day. (I already get the early morning sunshine as I do my a.m. farm chores at sunrise 🌞)
Β
Want to join me? πŸ‘‡
***************************************************************
πŸ₯΄Do you ever feel crazy because technically you’re β€œhealthy” and β€œfine,” but you always feel drained and depleted?
πŸ€’ Do you struggle to recover after a sickness, a stressful event, or even a few late nights?
😫 Do you start your day and run out of gas before you even begin, only to get energetic late at night and repeat the cycle all over again?
🀀 Have you tried everything to help your hormones, blood sugar levels, cravings, and weight but all the things people tell you aren’t working?
Β
There may be two tiny little glands in your body that need some love. Your adrenals.
The adrenal glands are small organs that sit on top of the kidneys. They maintain and boost our energy, kind of like a car shifting into first, second, and third gear as we go about our day.
They also help our bodies survive during times of stress. Since many of us live in a state of constant stress, they wear down quickly.
The adrenals are part of the endocrine system. Also known as the suprarenal glands, they’re involved in producing over 50 hormones that drive almost every bodily function, many of which are essential for life.
Β
Adrenal glands play a huge role in stress response. Here’s how it works:
β€’ Your brain registers a threat, whether emotional, mental, or physical.
β€’ The adrenal medulla releases cortisol and adrenaline hormones to help you react to the threat (the fight-or-flight response), rushing blood to your brain, heart, and muscles.
β€’ The adrenal cortex then releases corticosteroids to dampen processes like digestion, immune system response, and other functions not necessary for immediate survival.
β€’ Your adrenal glands are also responsible for balancing hormones.
Our adrenal glands aren’t meant to always be firing. They are there to jump in when needed and not be running the whole show. But excessive caffeine, lack of sleep, emotional stress, demanding schedules, hormonal imbalance, diet, alcohol abuse, and always pushing ourselves to the max can damage the adrenals to cause them to fatigue. This pushes us into a β€˜survival mode’ both physically and emotionally.
Fortunately, supporting your adrenals can be a pretty simple process. But functioning when they have given up? Almost impossible. So let’s give them the TLC they deserve!
Β
How can we help our adrenals?
We’re going to grab two oils.
β€’ Nutmeg
β€’ En-R-Gee
Inexpensive. Simple. Life changing.
Each day you will do the following three things:
β€’ Diffuse En-R-Gee every day in your home.
β€’ Apply Nutmeg over your lower back (adrenal area).
β€’ Get 15-20 minutes of sunlight exposure within three hours of waking up
The last thing you need when you’re fatigued are complicated steps or having to remember a bunch of things. That’s why you do it with us.
Why Nutmeg and En-R-Gee?
Both of these oils have unique properties perfect for supporting stress recovery, moving your body out of its fight or flight stress responses, and calming the emotions responsible for our survival instincts running the show and stealing our energy.

Get Your Iodine, Love Your Thyroid

Liz James · June 5, 2023 ·

Just one more reason to love Nitro! Remember, if your thyroid is struggling, your energy level will be tooπŸ€“.

Β
Β
Did you know NingXia Nitro is rich in iodine?
Β
Iodine is essential for THYROID health! 😍🌈✨
Β
The thyroid is a small butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck. It plays a crucial role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and hormone production. Iodine is a trace mineral that is a key component in producing thyroid hormones!
Β
Ensuring an adequate intake of iodine empowers your thyroid to function optimally, promoting healthy metabolism and balanced hormone levels. A deficiency in iodine can lead to thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, causing fatigue, weight gain, and mood imbalances.
Β
Prioritizing iodine for thyroid health empowers you to cultivate a harmonious balance within your body, promoting a vibrant and energetic life! πŸ¦‹πŸ¦„πŸ’«

14 Day Reset

Liz James · March 10, 2023 ·

Good morning friends! I wanted to share a video from a group that I am co-facilitating. It’s called the 14 Day Reset.
Reset what…. you might ask? πŸ€” Well, sometimes we get so used to feeling “off” it becomes normalized to each of us. In fact, you may have gone to the doctor and been told “everything is fine”, and though you may not feel fine, you’ve just been told that “not feeling fine” is normal….. (It’s not! ), and so many people just attribute this to aging and normal wear and tear on the body.
God made us fearfully and wonderfully. He also made us as an incredible healing machine…. IF the body has the opportunity to do so. This means giving the body the nutrition and tools it needs and removing the toxins that are causing the body harm which show up as clues making you feel “off”, perhaps in multiple ways.
What does feeling “off” feel like? That answer will be different for each of us, so maybe a better question is this….. what should we feel like day to day?
happy, calm, not anxious or πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ₯΄πŸ₯±πŸ˜’πŸ₯Ίall at once
clear minded with an increase in focus
having the energy πŸ’ͺπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί to complete the day’s tasks
a decrease or absence πŸ™Œ of chronic pain
a gut that willing pumps out 2-3 πŸ’©a day
and more! 🌞 (weight loss may be an added perk!)
Now, a 14 Day Reset is a starting point. Perhaps you take the information you learn, and decide to make what you glean a lifestyle because you feel so much better. It takes more than 14 days to change a habit and Rome wasn’t built in a day (nor was it destroyed in a day!), but if these 14 days give you a glimpse that it just might be possible to feel great again….. would you put skin in the game?
The 14 Day Reset group came together because collectively, we saw a need for this. It is free, though you’ll need NingXia Red ….(102 oz total for 14 days) to join the group (The NR starter bundle…. #42763 satisfies this). Please send me a screenshot of your order, and I’ll get you added to the 14 Day Reset Community.
We’ll be addressing mind, body, and spirit health together. πŸ₯°
( If you do not yet have a Young Living account of your own, but would like to try this challenge, you can create an account here: https://bit.ly/3oFccZj and then message me that you’ve done so and I’ll get you added!)
NOTE: this is a YL Family event…. ALL are welcome but you will need to message me a picture of your placed order for NingXia Red.
xoxo~ liz
(This video is a glimpse of the type of education you’ll be receiving).

How Much Do You Know About the Lymphatic System?

Liz James · May 7, 2022 ·

How much do you know about the lymphatic system friends?πŸ€” We consider the kidneys, colon……. even the skin and lungs as our major detoxifier focus, right? The lymphatic system is a major detoxification highway and frankly it’s overlooked in general Westernized medicine. Thankfully, there are now lymphatic clinics, lymphatic massage specialists (tho not always easy to find), and lymphatic educators out there. However, they are not called upon until major lymph sludge has developed.
Β
If you’re here…. you already know that the best defense in health and wellness is a good offense.πŸ™Œ How are you loving on your lymphatic system? How do you know if you need to (hint…. we should ALL be loving on our lymphatic system regularly to avoid toxin loads). πŸ€“
Β
Feel puffy or swollen in any area of your body is a call to action. A white flag is being waved. Dimply cellulite is another indicator that your lymph highway has not been able to remove toxins as well as it should be.
Β
Join me in cleaning up the mess! You’ll need Epsom salts, and a dry brush in addition to these items: (shopping listπŸ‘‡)

Β
If you’d like to be added to the education group to learn tips and tricks for a high functioning lymphatic system let me know and I’ll get you added!
